Horizon 2020 Energy Efficiency

Policymakers have new tools at their disposal to prepare long-term strategies for the decarbonisation of buildings through energy efficiency renovation. Horizon 2020 projects BUILD UPON and EmBuild supported the design and implementation of renovation strategies across 15 countries in central and south Eastern Europe.

Île-de-France Energies, the energy transition operator in the Paris Region, developed a unique financing scheme for energy saving works in collective housing. It now offers third-party financing for an all-inclusive energy renovation package for multi-family buildings it supports.

In this short interview, Marina Varvesi, Coordinator of H2020 project ASSIST, explains how to tackle energy poverty with free assistance and advice. She also gives some tips on how to prepare a successful project proposal.

The H2020 project TransitionZero – Energie Sprong won the EUSEW Award under the innovation category during the EU Sustainable Energy Week 2019, on 18 June.
