On 18 June, EU Commissioner Pierre Moscovici will be among the speakers at this year’s edition of the European Development Days. Tackling inequalities is at the core of the 2030 Agenda, and the event will thus focus on “Addressing inequalities: Building a world which leaves no one behind”. High levels of inequalities are a major obstacle to sustainable development, as they hinder sustainable economic growth, hold back poverty eradication, and undermine social cohesion. The Commissioner will participate on a panel moderated by Elena Flores, ECFIN Director for international economic and financial relations, where the speakers will examine possibilities and priorities for good governance along three dimensions to better match efficiency with fairness. The aim is to identify win-win strategies for sustainable development.
