On 18 March 2021, DG ECFIN held an online public event to mark the launch of the InvestEU Programme, adopted by the European Parliament on 09 March 2021. The event, which attracted over 1000 stakeholders from across Europe, featured a keynote address and Q&A session with EU Commissioner for the Economy, Paolo Gentiloni, as well as speakers from DG ECFIN's Directorate L, and InvestEU potential implementing partners.
The EIPP team was invited to the 2020 virtual edition of the European Space Week and joined the panel discussion on “EU Space Programme and Economy that works for people” that took place on 10 December. EIPP is striving to promote more projects targeting the space sector and we expect to enlarge our project portfolio as a result of our collaboration with the European Global Navigation Satellite System Agency.
In partnership with the European Business Angels Network (EBAN), this year the EIPP co-organised the European Angel Investment Summit (virtual event) – the ‘hot-spot’ for networking between investors and projects promoters.
The Portal will be the third pillar of the new InvestEU programme, the EU’s investment support programme expected to contribute to the economic recovery of the EU and to the climate and digital transitions needed for a more resilient European economy.
The EIPP formed an informal international collaboration with the Argentinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Agency who is about to establish a project portal similar to the EIPP.
As a result of the longstanding cooperation between EIPP and EuroQuity, a portal of Bpifrance (France), two first-class e-pitching events have been organised with BlueInvest, an initiative of the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund.
With a new tagging system developed, projects which have been awarded a Seal of Excellence Covid19 or GreenDeal Certificate, will be highlighted with a dedicated COVID19 and a GreenDeal label in the Portal.
In a united spirit to COVID-19 response and to support the European recovery, the EIPP and the Commission’s Research Directorate-General (RTD) Seal of Excellence have again put together their forces and acted as a team to acknowledge COVID-19 projects as a core area of interest for todays’ EU needs.
