The Commission published a series of factsheets on issues related to deepening Europe's Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) ahead of the Euro Summit which took place on 14 December 2018. The factsheets outline what has already been achieved, current discussions and the proposals on the table. A general factsheet provides an overview of the overall state-of-play of the EMU, while more detailed updates focus on the Banking Union; the Capital Markets Union; further strengthening the euro's role in the world; cooperation between the Commission and the European Stability Mechanism; and budgetary instruments for a stronger and stable euro area within the Union framework.
