Overview

In this together

Excessive screen time, addictive algorithms, and harmful online content can have a real impact on the mental health of children and young people. Addressing these challenges requires a collective effort. From digital platforms and governments ensuring safer online environments, to parents, educators and young people making informed and responsible choices, everyone has a role to play. The EU is taking action to protect children in the digital world. The Strategy for a better Internet for kids ensures that children are protected, respected and empowered online, and the Digital Services Act requires online platforms to ensure their services are safe for the physical and mental wellbeing of children. An EU action plan on cyberbullying aims to give children, parents, carers and educators the tools they need to report and combat this growing epidemic. We are all #InThisTogether. Take control of your device: engage and connect safely.
