Erasmus+ opens the door to a world of employment opportunities. Whether you find a job in a new country or sector, or build upon knowledge relevant to your field, Erasmus+ is proven to improve your prospects for a successful career. In fact, mobile higher education students are twice as likely to have a job one year after graduation compared to their non-mobile peers. Volunteering also boosts participants' chances of finding a job, as 75% of employers value such experience.
Learning is not restricted to the classroom. Erasmus+ also supports the recognition and visibility of non-formal and informal learning through the Youthpass certificate. The certificate and the learning process linked to it can be useful when applying for a job, further education or other projects. So far, more than 630 000 young people have received a Youthpass certificate.
Calling to share your opinion! An online public consultation on the new European Solidarity Corps has been launched. The website will collate the opinions of all those who wish to give their vision of how the organisation would work best. Input is welcome from all involved or not yet involved.
More and more young people are joining the European Solidarity Corps, with volunteer opportunities proving ever popular. Young people can be paired with suitable projects thanks to a newly launched online tool which makes it easier for organisations to look for volunteers. Find out how to access the European Solidarity Corps database and start the journey!
There are many opportunities for young people and youth workers to practice and/or develop their skills abroad; from volunteering to youth exchanges and training activities. Where were their top destinations and which countries send the most participants abroad? What did they feel were the benefits of their time away?
Check-out the toolkit were you will find a wide variety of resources including infographics, factsheets and videos. All are available to anyone who would like to promote the programme, organise events or debates and generally contribute to the future of the Erasmus+ programme! Celebrating 30 years of Erasmus is not the only European accomplishment we’re honouring this year. In March we’re also celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Treaty of Rome. These two anniversaries provide us with the perfect opportunity to reflect on the importance of openness, mutual understanding, and solidarity.
With the latest update of the Mobility Tool+, a new functionality allows you to copy data from one mobility to another. Fields common to several participants such as the activity type, the sending and receiving organisations, the activity dates and other can now be automatically pre-filled. This will save time when encoding your participants in group activities!
Since 2003, European Youth Week (EYW) has provided a popular and exciting opportunity for young people to get involved in EU politics by sharing their opinions and learning about opportunities offered to them by European Programmes. This year EYW will take place 1-7 May all across Europe. As part of Erasmus+ 30 year anniversary, this edition of EYW will focus on explaining Erasmus+ opportunities and promoting solidarity and the newly launched European Solidarity Corps. Learn more about the achievements of our youth and how you can get involved.
The European Solidarity Corps is the new European Union initiative which creates opportunities for young people to volunteer or work in projects - in their own country or abroad - that benefit communities and people around Europe.
Did you know that Erasmus+ is more successful and inclusive than ever? New figures published in the Erasmus+ Annual Report 2015 show that the programme invested €2.13 billion in more than 30,000 mobility projects during 2014 and 2015. This allowed around 1.3 million participants to go abroad, 10% of whom come from disadvantaged backgrounds or have special needs. The Annual Report also covers major developments in the Erasmus+ programme to address social inclusion in Europe. For example, a focus is put on the education needs, skills recognition and development of refugees arriving in Europe. Be sure not to miss all the latest updates!
