Smarter sensors that save lives: how innovation continues after MSCA

Last month, Christoforos Panteli completed his MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship and is now starting his own laboratory at the University of Cyprus.Building on the research and algorithms from his MSCA fellowship, he now aims to develop intelligent sensors for various applications, helping researchers monitor metrics in health, environment, energy, robotics, and more.

 
The MCAA launches a survey on Artificial Intelligence (AI)

The Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA) has launched a survey to gather insights on how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is shaping research and innovation across the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) community.The questions cover a myriad of topics, from the perceptions of individual researchers on AI in the research sphere to the AI training that research performing organisations offer. The insights we gain from your responses will help shape future training and policy initiatives under the MSCA.MSCA fellows and alumni are invited to complete the survey by 31 January 2026.

You can now prove that the Eurostat data that you use are genuine!

Is the reproducibility of research and analyses an issue for you? Then you might wish to try out the new blockchain-based authenticable reproducibility solution currently piloted by Eurostat. Starting this fall, Eurostat has been anchoring all of the thousands of datasets in its main dissemination database in the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI) blockchain. This gives you, as a researcher or analyst, the necessary tools to demonstrate that the data you have used for your analyses are genuine Eurostat data. But how to start? The extensive user guide includes a page with step-by-step instructions for researchers and analysts interested in trying out this new feature.

MSCA opens €105.5 million call to co-fund doctoral and postdoctoral programmes

The MSCA Co-funding of regional, national and international programmes (COFUND) 2026 call is currently open. The deadline for submission of proposals is 8 April 2026.Under this call, the European Commission will award €105.5 million to support institutional, regional, national and international training and career development programmes for researchers.

The MSCA Staff Exchanges 2026 call is currently open. The deadline for submission of proposals is 16 April 2026.Under this call, the European Commission will allocate €97.9 million to fund projects promoting cooperation between organisations in the EU and around the world in the field of research and innovation.

The European Code Week is an EU-funded citizens' initiative that celebrates creativity, problem solving and collaboration through coding and other technological activities. At the heart of the initiative, a dynamic team of teachers and volunteer ambassadors organises EU Code Week activities in their own communities. The European Code Week celebrates its anniversary every year in October, with two weeks of fun events and activities organised across Europe and beyond. But contrary to its name, Code Week is an initiative that takes place throughout the year, and many other activities take place outside of the most important celebrations in October. This year, the 12th anniversary celebrations of the European Code Week will take place from 14 to 27 October.
