European Researchers’ Night and Researchers at Schools

Did you enjoy Science is Wonderful!? The European Commission organises the European Researchers’ Night every last Friday in September. This is a unique occasion for kids, parents, teachers and citizens in general, to meet with researchers, directly in their city. Join the next European Researchers’ Night on 27 September 2024 for an unforgettable experience.

Would you like to interact with researchers all year round? Researchers at Schools will bring the wonders of science directly to classrooms in selected European cities, where amazing researchers will show their work to your pupils through presentations, hands-on experiments, visits to labs, games, discussions and role-playing. And for our Belgian audience: we have good news! In 2024, we are happy to welcome a Belgian initiative back for the first time in years! Get ready Belgium: your September will be scientifically awesome.

 
Register now: MCAA Annual Conference & General Assembly

The 2024 annual conference and General Assembly of the Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA) will take place at the University of Milano-Bicocca in Milano, Italy, on 14-16 March 2024. The theme of the conference is 10 Years of MCAA: Past, Present & Future. The MCAA community brings together researchers from all career stages and scientific disciplines, MSCA project managers and stakeholders.

 
Register now: MSCA and Erasmus+ Webinars for Latin America and the Caribbean

This series of webinars will take place from 27 to 29 November 2023. They will present the Erasmus+ and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions programmes and the opportunities they offer to organisations from the Latin American and Caribbean region, wishing to strengthen their cooperation with Europe. The third day will focus on opportunities for individual students and researchers from Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as those who wish to move to this region. The webinars will be in Spanish only.

 
MSCA Presidency Conference: MSCA Diverse Research Careers to tackle Global Challenges

The European Commission and the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU are organising the upcoming MSCA Presidency Conference, which will focus on how the MSCA promotes diverse research careers to tackle global challenges. The MSCA Science-Policy Pitch Competition will also take place during the Presidency Conference. 15 MSCA fellows and alumni will have the chance to present their research or projects bridging science and policy in front of a high-calibre jury and the audience. The event will be web streamed.

 
MSCA Presidency Conference: Diverse Research Careers to tackle Global Challenges

The MSCA Presidency Conference, organised by the European Commission and the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU, is taking place on 14 and 15 November in Toledo, Spain. The event will focus on how the MSCA promotes diverse research careers to tackle global challenges. Check the programme, follow the event online and engage!

 
MSCA Science-Policy Pitch Competition and Awards: watch, engage and vote!

The MSCA Science-Policy Pitch Competition will take place during the Presidency Conference. 15 MSCA fellows and alumni will have the chance to present their research or projects bridging science and policy in front of a high-calibre jury and the audience. The competition sessions will take place in-between Conference sessions and will be webstreamed. Follow online to vote for your favourite pitch for the audience winner!

 
Erasmus+ Worldwide Webinars

Erasmus+ is the European Union’s programme supporting projects and exchanges for education, training, and youth worldwide. This 3-day webinar will offer information on the opportunities provided by Erasmus+ and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions for exchange and cooperation open to organisations and individuals across the globe. All sessions will be in English, with interpretation in French and Spanish.

 
Info session on the MSCA Green Charter

According to the MSCA Green Charter, activities funded by the programme should be performed as sustainably as possible. This lunchtime session will be taking a closer look at the Charter and present the preliminary results of a recently completed survey on the Charter's implementation, and share guidance materials with the participants, as well as tips and good practice examples from past and current beneficiaries.

 
European Researchers’ Night 2023

The European Researchers' Night is a Europe-wide public event, which displays the diversity of science and its impact on citizens' daily lives in fun, inspiring ways. This year, the event will take place in 26 countries on Friday 29 September 2023. Children, young people, and families will have the chance to meet researchers and discover research, science, and innovation through a wide range of science shows, hands-on experiments, games, quizzes, competitions, exhibitions, and digital activities.

 
MSCA at the EAIE Conference and Exhibition

The Annual EAIE Conference is Europe's most comprehensive higher education event, gathering over 6,000 professionals from all over the globe. The conference will take place in Rotterdam from 26 to 29 September 2023 and will offer over 250 events and activities around the theme “Connecting currents”. The MSCA will be featured in four sessions, on connecting education and research, international cooperation and a Q&A session about the programme.

 
MSCA at the 2nd Education and Innovation Summit

The second edition of the Education and Innovation Summit will bring together the main players in education and innovation. The Summit’s topics will focus on the development of talent and future-proof skills in line with the priorities of the European Year of Skills. The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions will be present at the Summit with the breakout session “Empowering researchers for innovation” (14:00-15:30 CEST).

We are pleased to invite you to the 2023 edition of Science is Wonderful! taking place in Brussels on 16-17 March 2023.

Science is Wonderful! is an annual science fair dedicated to inspiring primary and secondary school pupils with the wonders of science and its impact on our lives. It is a unique occasion for your students to connect with scientists, ask them questions and discover career pathways in science.

Science is Wonderful! will be returning in 2023 as a physical exhibition in Brussels, at the Maison de la Poste in Brussels.

This edition will include interactive presentations, hands-on experiments, games, and quizzes. Participation is free of charge, and you will be invited to register your classes by mid-January.

Lunch and free bus transport to the venue can be arranged upon request (limited availability).

EU Sport Forum 2018

Organised yearly, the EU Sport Forum is the 'place to be' in European sport and the main platform for dialogue between the European Commission and sport stakeholders. Under the banner 'Sport in Europe, investing for future generations,' this year's edition takes place on 22-23 March 2018, in Sofia.

 
Erasmus+ Sport Info Day

Presentations from the fifth edition of the Sport Info Day are now available on the website of the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency. Participants were provided with information on the EU policy framework and on applying for Erasmus+ funding opportunities in the field of sport.

 
First European Education Summit to have special focus on inequality in education

EU Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Tibor Navracsics will be hosting the First European Education Summit in Brussels, on 25 January 2018. The event will bring together decision makers, education practitioners, stakeholders and business leaders for a day of discussions on creating a European Education Area where innovative, inclusive and values-based education will be the norm.

 
European Researchers' Night Information Day

The European Commission organised on 14 December 2017 an information day for those interested in participating in the European Researchers’ Night (NIGHT) action, which aims to raise interest in research and in research careers, especially among young people.Check out the presentations shown at the event on the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions website.

 
Innovative Training Networks Info Day

The fourth Horizon 2020 Innovative Training Networks (ITN) Info Day took place in Brussels on 11 December 2017. The meeting provided the coordinators of the H2020 ITN projects with information on specific implementation matters. Presentations are available on the MSCA website.
