Early Adopters Programme update

In December, the Early Adopters Programme closed temporarily the onboarding of new applicants for Tier B. But do not worry, the onboarding will resume in 2024! As part of the Build phase, the team sat down with the Employment cluster for a technical support meeting and a communications workshop.

Policy update

Last month, the European Blockchain Partnership (EBP) held its Policy Group Quarterly Meeting! The meeting brought together EBP member state representatives and focused on updating the delegations on EBSI's activities and pilot projects over the last few months, and on addressing the creation of the EUROPEUM-EDIC which will allow EBSI to move into production.

Technical update

On 11 December 2023, the EBSI Team presented its work over the last few months at the EBP Technical Group Quarterly Meeting! The team has been preparing the release of Conformance Testing v3.2 which will include a Node.js 20 update, a traceability app, changes in the Ledger API (v4) and in the Authorisation API. This update will also support the new Timestamp API v4. An update of the documentation present on the EBSI Hub is also being prepared to reflect these release.

7-8 February 

Tomorrow's Tech Today - The conference, spanning two days in Ghent, Belgium, aims to enhance countries' awareness and responsibility in digital transformation for sustainability. The first day, led by Belgian Minister Petra De Sutter, focuses on the 'green digital twin transition,' emphasizing collaborative efforts at EU, country, regional, and local levels. Topics include sustainable telecommunications and data centers, aligning with the EU Code of Conduct, and exploring digital solutions for a greener future. The second day, led by Secretary of State Mathieu Michel, delves into the ethical, governance, and infrastructure aspects of new technologies, with a dedicated session on blockchain's role in innovation-driven growth and discussions on effective AI governance for increased digital trust.

12-16 February

Stockholm Fintech Week - This conference in Sweden aims to not only provide insightful talks between speakers and participants, but to also help entrepreneurs find partners to collaborate on projects. Attendees will learn more about relevant regulations, combating financial crime, Web3, cybersecurity, AI in fintech, among other topics, and will have the opportunity to be selected to participate in an exclusive matchmaking session between start ups and investors.

21 February

Masters of Digital 2024 - Described as a visionary, this one day event will address digital resilience, data sharing, ethical AI, among other topics, in order to ensure Europe's digital transformation. Participants will be able to explore the transformative potential of digital innovation while never losing focus of Europe's economy, society and sustainability concerns. The event will take place in Brussels, Europe, but participants are also able to join online.

8-12 April

Paris Blockchain Week 2024 - This week-long event is back for another edition in the heart of Paris, France. After a successful edition in 2023, the event brings together the Web3 community once again. This year the participants will be able to dive in 5 different tracks and explore them in detail: open finance, tech builders, corporate Web3, public policy, and enterprise blockchain.

25-26 September

European Blockchain Convention - After a successful edition in October of 2023, the European Blockchain Convention has recently announced the 2024 dates for this year's conference in Barcelona, Spain! The event aims to bring together experts from different fields while also providing an interactive an enriching experience to attendees. Speakers will dive into Web3, blockchain enterprises, digital assets and policy developments!

Blockchain fun fact

The event industry has been trying to overcome serious obstacles such as fake tickets, ticket scalpers and bots, to ensure data safety and security during different types of ticketing operations. However, it has been a tough fight. Industry leaders are starting to look at blockchain as a way to finally be able to win the war against scammers!
