Book your front-row seat in the Council

Still not sure what's the difference between the Council of the EU and the European Council? Or ready to dive deep into a specific policy field? Why not get an expert who works in the Council to explain it to you (all) via a virtual presentation?

date:  05/02/2021

Traditionally, the Council welcomed hundreds of visitors from all over the world every day. But in 2020, with the spread of the coronavirus, we had to quickly reinvent our offer by going virtual: our new visitors' programme includes a 360° virtual tour of the Council's buildings, a recorded presentation providing visitors with a quick overview of what the Council does and virtual information sessions.

Rethinking visits

Although created out of necessity, the virtual information sessions now offer first-hand information from speakers who work in the Council and are experts in their various areas - directly in your classroom no matter where you are based in the world. Everything you ever wanted to know about the Council is at hand and easy to incorporate into learning programmes. If you would like to book a virtual information session, fill in the registration form

Now, we would like you to meet some of the people who have recently participated in such a session with us:

Raquel, student, Spain: “This virtual session has been really helpful for me since it has broadened my knowledge about a specific area of EU action that I would like to work on in the future, and it has encouraged me to keep working to achieve this aim. This was a great occasion to discover first-hand how an expert approaches their tasks.”

Guillem, student, Spain: “It was an honour and a unique opportunity to have a virtual visit with high-level experts who work on EU issues on a daily basis. But beyond their significant knowledge and expertise, what stood out was their openness to talk and not to avoid sensitive issues.”

Eva, student, Spain: “The opening video was an excellent way of introducing the institution to the participants. Furthermore, having a speaker talking about a very relevant subject that features on the world stage today was particularly engaging. I think it is a great way to ‘visit’ Brussels during the pandemic.”
