Inside tips to lead a successful group climate activity

Over 110 Pact community members took part in a hands-on discussion on empowering others to lead climate action at the Pact annual event on 5 March. During the session, led by Pact Ambassadors Frida Berry Eklund, César González Fernández, Maria Chiara Pettenati, Rodrigo Perez-Garcia and Simone Padovani, the group agreed on several key tips. Here’s what they came up with:

  • If you’re looking for a simple way to educate a group of people on a climate topic, climate walks are a great option. They bring people together and can be built upon for bigger impact.
  • If you are thinking about hosting a peer parliament debate, don’t hesitate to reach out to a Pact Ambassador near you to co-host. It can also be very helpful to involve local municipalities and schools to increase your reach and knowledge, and help you tailor the session to your specific audience.
  • When it comes to local climate groups, there are three key steps to success:  don’t make it too complex, don’t lecture and don’t do it alone!
  • Finally, if you’re organising a photo story workshop, remember it’s an opportunity to increase local knowledge and connect to local decision-makers.
