A stark warning, but there is room for hope if we act decisively

The IPCC’s latest report concludes – unequivocally – that human activity is causing rapid global warming, and that bringing greenhouse gas emissions to net zero urgently is the only way to stop it. We still have time to act and all the tools we need, we just have to deploy them at scale and quickly. European Commission Executive Vice-President Frans Timmermans agrees: “Trying to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees is of critical importance to all life on Earth.”
