Johanna is a young filmmaker from Germany. She has been committed to protecting the environment since she was 12 and has channelled her activism into documentary filmmaking, which she feels is an undervalued tool for creating socioecological transformation. She is currently working on a new film called The Story of a New World, which will explore solutions to the climate crisis and tell positive stories that empower viewers to take climate action.

“Young people have always been the generation to break boundaries and bring new ideas into the world. Our passion and drive, as well as the pressure we are under – as the generation that will be more affected by the climate crisis than any before – demand that we act urgently. I hope my films help more young people connect with one another and provide an opportunity to share new visions and develop solutions.”
