Valérie Escoubas represents the Monteux citizens collective in Monteux, France. She leads the collective’s coordination with the European Climate Pact and helps integrate ecological principles into the collective’s work. She keeps an eye on citizen-led projects across Europe, in order to find inspiring new ways to get citizens involved in nature-friendly projects.

“In 2022 we will focus on making sure that our decision makers take into account environmental concerns and honour the commitments made at national and European level, when proposing urbanisation projects. We will also be active in the Council for Ecological Transition to influence policies around mobility, food and waste.

I encourage everyone, whatever their level and organisation, to consider their impact, in terms of both carbon footprint and waste generation, by asking themselves the question: is there a way for us to do better?”
