Martin is an expert in sustainable finance. Besides having a master’s degree in sustainability accounting, and being trained in environmental, social and governance standards, he is also an online lecturer in green and sustainable finance for the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management. As a member of parliament in North Rhine-Westphalia, he introduced a bill on sustainable investment criteria for public pension funds in the region, which other German states have since followed.

There has also been a significant increase in scholarship opportunities and calls for researchers. I think there should be more focus on educating science, technology, engineering and mathematics professionals in sustainable business strategies and the green transformation.”
