For this end of year issue, we look at the organisations and communities across Europe that have joined the European Climate Pact in 2021 – such as the Belgian region of Flanders. With more than 1,600 organisational pledges and over 23,000 made by individual citizens in 2021, the Pact is building a movement of people taking steps to change their lifestyles and the way they run their businesses in order to reduce their impact on the planet.

Another way to make a difference is by organising a Peer Parliament. In a dedicated video message, European Commission Executive Vice-President Frans Timmermans invites everyone to host a small group discussion on everyday climate action with friends, family, neighbours or colleagues. A good start to 2022!
