Belgian organisation Gents Milieufront aims to make the city of Ghent greener and more biodiverse. It has joined the Climate Pact with a pledge to create at least 500 vertical gardens across the city on residential buildings, schools and business blocks during 2022. Vertical gardens provide homes to insects and birds, while also cooling buildings in hot summers, and making them more attractive for residents and visitors alike.
