New call supporting transnational research and innovation for a sustainable blue economy

The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership (SBEP) has opened its Fourth Joint Transnational Call

Deadline:  To be announced.

The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership (SBEP) has opened its Fourth Joint Transnational Call, supporting 36‑month research and innovation projects that advance a regenerative, resilient and climate‑neutral blue economy across Europe’s sea basins. The call invites proposals addressing one of four priority areas: transitioning blue‑economy sectors, managing sea‑uses through digital and ecosystem‑based approaches, innovating blue bioresources, and building resilience in coastal communities. Eligible consortia must include partners from at least three participating countries, involving at least two EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries. Stakeholder participation from SMEs, industry, authorities and civil society is strongly encouraged. The call pools national and regional funding from 33 organisations across 28 countries, with an estimated budget of €38 million. Pre‑proposals must be submitted by 16 November 2026 (15:00 CET), followed by full proposals in June 2027. Α matchmaking event will run from 14 September to 13 November to support partner search and consortium building.
