Dear readers,

We are halfway through the first year of activity for the Clean Hydrogen Partnership and is a good time to take stock of our activities so far, while acknowledging  the solid foundation that our predecessor, the FCH JU, had built.

Check out the Annual Activity Report for 2021 to have an overview of how we paved the way to the new partnership, and since we’re talking about reports, have a look at those released by the FCH Observatory - summarising the technology & market developments over the past year.

 As you might have noticed, we have been working relentlessly to launch and manage the first call for proposals. A total of €300.5 million will be made available this year for projects in an unprecedented drive to support the creation of cutting-edge hydrogen technologies.

In addition to this, the European Commission announced in its communication “REPowerEU Plan” an extra investment of €200 million available for the Clean Hydrogen Partnership through the Horizon Europe Programme.

The funds will help double the number of Hydrogen Valleys in Europe and aim to accelerate the implementation of the hydrogen economy across the EU. I am hoping that we will see some strong project proposals that will allow us to move towards this goal and I can only encourage all those interested to apply for the remaining topics - the deadline is 20 September 2022!

Looking at what is next in the second part of the year, I would also like to invite you to the third edition of the European Hydrogen Week which will take place between 24-28 October 2022 in Brussels. More information about the event will be available in September.
