The European Commission has selected the 3 contractors that proceed to the last phase of the EU blockchain pre-commercial procurement. This procurement is developing and testing different innovative solutions that could enhance the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI) with DLT innovations that improve scalability, environmental sustainability, privacy and security, object identification, data processing and robustness. IOTA StiftungChromaway AB and Billon Sp. Z O. O. will be focusing during the next 12 months in the EU blockchain PCP on finalising the development of their solution and field testing it in cooperation with the EC.

As reminder, the call for proposals of the Digital Europe Programme concerning Advanced digital skills is open until the 24 January 2023. The primary objective of this call is to support the design and delivery of higher education programmes concerning key technologies, including blockchain. Participants are also invited to upgrade digital solutions, equipment and infrastructure, with a special focus on interoperability of IT systems across participating High Education Institutions. Moreover, proposals are highly encouraged to explain how the project explores the innovative use of digital tools and solutions to support the functioning of the education programme(s), such as the cross-border verification of educational credentials piloted by the European Blockchain Service Infrastructure (or other solution).
