Dear Colleague,

This newsletter edition is dedicated to our Public Participation and Deliberative Democracy Festival which took place on 20th & 21st October, 2022, and we take a look back at the overall event and highlights. In case you missed it, you can watch the Brussels, Ispra and selected online Zoom sessions on-demand.

Also in this edition, don't miss the special interview with European Commission Vice-President Dubravka Šuica, who outlines the current and future Commission policies and initiatives regarding participatory and deliberative democracy in Europe, and the update on the Deliberative Democracy and Citizens' Assembly Cohort working as part of the US Summit for Democracy.

We hope you enjoy the articles in this edition, and welcome your feedback on the Festival and ideas for the next one. Write to us at EU-CITIZEN-ENGAGEMENT@ec.europa.eu. We are grateful for the valuable feedback already received through our evaluation form.
