How to retain and attract talent in EU rural areas

Dear Rural Pact community member,
We would like to inform you about the upcoming workshop ‘How to retain and attract talent in EU rural areas’ that will take place on the 11 October 2023 (09h30-11h00 CEST) in Brussels in the context of the European Week of Regions and Cities. This workshop is co-organised by the Joint Research Centre (JRC), the Committee of the Regions, the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha and the Commission's Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development.
The event will focus on the challenges and opportunities arising from attracting and retaining talent in EU rural areas. It will delve into the experiences of EU regions to identify key factors that can be leveraged through the Rural Pact to help retain talent. Moreover, it will explore various initiatives and funding opportunities – including the Rural Toolkit and the Startup Village Forum initiative – that can facilitate the attraction and retention of talent in EU rural areas.
We hope to see you at this relevant event to achieve the long-term vision for rural areas.
