Energy – Five measures put forward by the Commission

In order to address the extraordinary situation, the Commission prepared five proposals to be discussed with the Member States at last week’s informal Energy Ministers Council, in addition to the three first steps that were taken already over the last months.

In order to address the extraordinary situation, the Commission prepared five proposals to be discussed with the Member States at last week’s informal Energy Ministers Council, in addition to the three first steps that were taken already over the last months.

Smart savings on electricity, caps on the revenues of companies that are producing electricity with low costs, solidarity contribution for fossil fuel companies, addressing the energy utility companies that must be supported to be able to cope with the volatility of the markets and lowering the costs of gas are the five measures, which together with solidarity, unity and determination could help us overcome.
