The European Court of Auditors (ECA) has published a special report this month on sustainable water use in agriculture.

The auditors consider how the CAP can promote sustainable water use practices through its different funding mechanisms including direct payments, rural development support, and market measures. ECA findings also aim to help Member States avoid risks of financing (directly or indirectly) practices that stimulate depletion of water resources in water-stressed areas.
