A recent ENRD workshop – that took place in Brussels, on 6 November 2019 – discussed how EU environmental requirements and associated planning tools can be integrated into the preparation of the future CAP Strategic Plans.

The event brought national agricultural and environmental authorities together with representatives from DG AGRI and DG ENV and other stakeholders, to reflect on the higher ambition for environmental delivery in the future CAP Strategic Plans. To succeed, it is necessary for the national authorities to collaborate when working on agriculture, rural development and the environment. Existing planning tools derived from EU and national environmental legislation need to be taken into account in CAP planning.
