Over three days – 8-10 November 2019 – more than 4 000 participants from across Spain and Portugal, gathered in Soria for PRESURA – the national forum on repopulation of rural areas - to discuss the future of rural areas.

National, regional and local stakeholders discussed and presented initiatives meant to counteract the effects of severe depopulation in rural Spain. Topics discussed included Smart Villages, digitalisation, education, communication, as well as film and literature, putting forward alternative ideas on how to make rural areas attractive for everybody.
