EESC calls for inclusive decision-making in rural vision’s implementation

A new opinion by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) calls for enhanced governance frameworks, annual assessments, and targeted interventions in the implementation of the EU's rural vision. It highlights the need for a post-2027 rural development policy specifically dedicated to the implementation of the Rural Action Plan and recognising the significance of the Rural Pact.

 
ARAGORN–Japan exchanges on approaches to soil contamination

Soil O-LIVE sustainability training sessions

The 14 training sessions, organised by the EU-funded project ‘The soil biodiversity and functionality of Mediterranean olive groves: a holistic analysis of the influence of land management on olive oil quality and safety’ (SOIL O-LIVE) and the olive oil company Deoleo, will run from April to September 2024 in Spain, Italy and Portugal. The sessions aim to instruct and inform farmers about implementing sustainable practices in their olive groves and caring for the soil. Learn more about the training sessions below:

New online tool on sustainability in agriculture

The European Commission has launched the Agri Sustainability Compass, an interactive tool offering clear and comprehensible information on sustainability in agriculture. This new tool brings together 20 key indicators for the economic, social and environmental sustainability dimensions in agriculture and rural areas.
