EU ministers will exchange today in the AGRIFISH on the long-term vision for EU’s rural areas.

This is the first ministerial-level debate at a formal Council meeting since the adoption of the LTVRA and a first step towards the discussion and adoption of Council conclusions on the vision, scheduled at the AGRIFISH Council on 20 November 2023.

These conclusions will also be discussed on the General affairs Council on Cohesion on 30 November under AOB.

To prepare the Council discussions, the Spanish presidency and Commission services (DG AGRI) presented the achievements under the rural vision so far at the Special committee on agriculture (SCA) on 11 September.
