We are delighted to announce that the “2020 EU Agricultural Outlook Conference – Next generation EU agriculture” will take place on 16-17 December 2020. Please save the date!

Due to current travel restrictions and social distancing obligations, the conference will be held on-line.

Day 1 – Next generation EU agriculture

On its first day the conference, opened by EU Commissioner for Agriculture Wojciechowski, will reflect on the lessons learnt from the Covid-19 crises and look at pathways for a green recovery for the EU agricultural sector. Results of a foresight study by the European Commission on “Farmers of the future” will also be presented. High-level panel discussions will involve senior representatives from EU bodies and international organisations, farmers and experts.

Day 2 – EU agriculture outlook by 2030

The second day will focus on the presentation of DG AGRI’s latest 2030 EU agricultural outlook (prepared in cooperation with the EU’s Joint Research Centre) starting with consumption trends in the EU. Thematic sessions will cover arable crops, wine, olive oil, fruit & vegetable markets, meat and dairy products as well as sugar and biofuels.

More details about this event, such as interpretation service and registration process, will be made available on the conference website.
