Barrier effects of borders: implications for border-crossing infrastructures

This study aims at describing and analysing the possible barrier effects of borders, especially in the field of transports and spatial interactions, using a typology of these barriers. Different ways of assessing such effect are developped, and results given for different kinds of transports. Moreover, the article elaborates a social cost benefits analysis of investment in international corridor.
