Dear members of the European AI Alliance,

This article is a request for your AI problem statements and ideas for our AI competition platform. We launched this platform to work on machine learning problems, and it works by formulating problem statements with associated data, which are presented to an open community of around 8,000 data scientists, who collaborate to create solutions.

We currently have live competitions, for instance with philanthropic organizations to detect animal shelter dog breeds and potentially move them to better shelters down the line. Additionally, we're planning problem statements such as a precision farming challenge and a task to automate healthcare claims processing.

Data Science for Good

We are seeking additional challenges as we have a large amount of data talent in the community.

A closed, siloed approach to AI sows fear and uncertainty about AI. On the flipside, AI for good inspires corporations and governments about the positive potential of this technology. The case for such an open, democratized approach to AI is clear.

My ask for you is to formulate an AI problem statement based on needs you see in your organization or community. Naturally, AI requires a high volume of indicative data, so please create a problem statement that is appropriate in consideration of the shareable data at your disposal.

Thank you in advance for your support, and we look forward to sharing the results of the survey with the Alliance group.

Warm regards,

Frederik Bussler
