In 2017, the European Commission has adopted the Communication “Boosting Growth and Cohesion in EU Border Regions”, through which it identifies a set of priorities and actions needed to overcome existing obstacles to the economic and social development of cross-border regions. Since its adoption, many actions haven been started and implemented and many others are forecasted to be realised throughout 2019.
