To enable children and young people to learn about media directly from media professionals, the Agency for Electronic Media and UNICEF, in partnership with leading media outlets in Croatia organize workshops "Children Meet the Media", as part of bigger project - Media Literacy Days.

The workshops will be held from March 4 to April 14, 2019 in media outlets in six cities: Osijek, Pula, Rijeka, Split, Zadar and Zagreb, and are intended for students from the fifth grade of the elementary school to the fourth grade of secondary school.

In Zadar, students will visit HRT Center Zadar.

Media staff will show students how their media works, how media content is created, how complex information gathering processes are and what is needed to get a final media product. Some students will have the opportunity to try themselves in the production of media content and under the mentorship of professional journalists and editors to write an article, or to make their own radio or television features.

The aim of the workshop is to enable children and young people to gain insight into the functioning of the media and the processes of creating media content and to encourage them to think critically about the media.
