The implementation of the project titled 'Legal accessibility among the V4 countries' supported by the International Visegrad Fund started in February. The main objective of the project is to create the frames for a permanent interstate mechanism of overcoming cross-border obstacles at the level of V4 countries. The members of the consortium (CESCI and the University of Szeged from Hungary, University of Warsaw Centre for European, Regional and Local Studies from Poland, the Masaryk University of Brno from Czechia and the CESCI Carpathia from Slovakia) intend to study and adapt the model of the Freedom of Movement Council of the Nordic Council. The 1,5 year long project includes desk research on relevant examples, a study tour to Copenhagen (to the Secretariat of the Nordic Council), the elaboration of studies on the Nordic model and the way of adapting it; a guidance on the set-up and operation of the planned V4 Mobility Council; and two international conferences. This way, the V4 countries can join older transnational cooperation structures like the Benelux Union and the Nordic Council and can contribute to the elimination of border obstacles - in harmony with the objectives set by the Communication 'Boosting Growth and Cohesion in EU Border Regions'. Further details on the project and related activities can be found at the CESCI's Legal accessibility web site.
