BBC site geoblocked in the UK

Sites by BBC Worldwide are not available in the UK due to licencing reasons. It would be great to have a single market where we at least don't block content produced in the country in the same country.

To quote the message:

We're sorry but this site is not accessible from the UK as it is part of our international service and is not funded by the licence fee. It is run commercially by BBC Worldwide, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the BBC, the profits made from it go back to BBC programme-makers to help fund great new BBC programmes. BBC Worldwide content in UK

As a commercial service, BBC Worldwide websites are not funded by the UK licence fee. They are supported by advertising outside the UK and the content is specifically developed for the BBC’s international audiences.

Nonetheless, we are aware of increasing audience appetite for the content in the UK, especially as it may appear in search results or on social media. As a result, there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes to make as much available as possible. So far, this work has resulted in sections of BBC Earth, BBC Future, (and for a trial period) BBC Capital and BBC Culture being available to both UK and international audiences.
