2016The Next Generation Internet refers to a set of novel architectures and approaches that should enable the evolution of the Internet into a system that is able to sustain the current explosion in streaming and mobile traffic, cope with new demands caused by the massive proliferation of real-time data generation and exchange throughout the network, offer major improvements in terms of reliability, security and trust, and unleash a wave of opportunities for service and system innovation and value creation. All of this should happen in a manner that alleviates the risks of surveillance, favours openness and interoperability and increases user empowerment and control.
