We've had feedback regarding the level of accessibility of the Digital4Europe discussion platform which invites people to share their experience and ideas about the digital single market.

Under the European Commission's Information Providers Guide as of January 2010, all new EUROPA websites have to be created in compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0, level AA. These guidelines have been incorporated in European Standard EN 301 549.

We have checked our Digital4EU pages and they do not fulfil the requirements of the European standard. Our goal is to make them fully compliant. We have already started improving the homepage. Next, we will do the same work on the other pages, particularly the input forms, and we will continue to ensure compliance.

Most of the pages are co-created by the users and are dynamically rendered from a content management system. We are working on a solution that makes the compliance process as much automatized and scalable as possible.

We will post each improvement on this blog post in the coming days/weeks.

We thank you in advance for any feedback.
