Over the past few weeks, there have been many voices at both European and Member State levels urging the establishment of a "European Health Union, closer to the citizens".

Cross-border areas are particularly suited to a European policy action in the field of health.

Over the last twenty years and with the support of successive Interreg programmes, we have worked to develop cross-border projects, at the heart of the European ideal of cooperation and solidarity between regions and countries.

The unilateral closure of borders has undermined this long-term endeavour, involving consultation, construction, organisation and sometimes complex solutions between the parties.

Please find below our "Call to guarantee that cross-border areas remain open for health at all times!” asking for the adoption and implementation of flagship measures.
