The article aims at analysing the consequences of cross-border integration taking a critical point of view in order to evaluate both the benefits of this integration, and the possible negative aspects for some people. The study is realised through the analysis of a "functional dimension" (number of cross-border activities) and of the "level of mutual social trust" by looking at the representations of the people living in border regions. For this purpose the authors use the results fo the EUROBAROMETER 422 survey.
