This study provides a report on the Smart Specialisation Strategy (RIS3) for the Galicia - Northern Portugal Euroregion. The creation of such strategy resulted from the Europe 2020 strategy and the Cohesion Policy 2014-2020 that insisted on the importance of specialisation strategies for european regions, in order to boost innovation and economic development. It was a request of the European Commission, for better efficiency in the allocation of structural funds. After a description of the methodology used, the documents addresses the application of such methodology through a description of previous relations between the two regions, a diagnosis of the potential specialisation, visions for the future of these regions, and the definition of strategic collaboration areas and priorities.
