Did you know that some of the information we receive or search on the Internet may not be reliable or true? Stop to think about these 5 guidelines because they will help you analyse any type of media content (social media posts, memes, viral messages, videos or news):

  1. Why have they created this content?
  2. How did you reach the content?
  3. Could it be interpreted differently?
  4. Who is the author?
  5. See if the facts he describes are realistic.

INCIBE's Internet Segura for Kids has developed this teaching resource to help students look closely at the small print of the news on the Internet.

Specifically, two practical cases are presented to apply what students have learned, individually or in groups, with the aim of reflecting on the information they receive, promoting critical capacity and decision-making and, with it, establishing a long-term reading habit.

The resource is available in Spanish.

  1. ¿Por qué han creado este contenido?
  2. ¿Cómo has llegado al contenido?
  3. ¿Podría interpretarse de otra forma?
  4. ¿Quién es el autor?
