Do you know how important is to have strong passwords? And what about backup copies? Would you like to get some tips to buy online or how to avoid malicious programs? The Spanish Data Protection agency and the Internet Security Office have developed the guide titled “Privacy and security on Internet”, for Internet users.

This guide has 18 cards that shows the main risks we are exposed on internet, and the protection measures that we must apply to avoid those risks. Specifically, each card presents a possible risky situation for users of electronic devices and Internet. The main intention is to make them reflect on the issues that might arise if they did or did not perform a particular action. After this, the card includes general information about the subject. Finally, each card provides a series of tips and advices that will help to avoid posed risks and how to keep oneself protected.

¿Sabes por qué es tan importante tener contraseñas robustas? ¿Y hacer copias de seguridad? ¿Te gustaría obtener unos consejos para comprar en línea o sobre cómo evitar los programas maliciosos? Te presentamos la guía de "Privacidad y seguridad en Internet" que la Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD) y el Instituto Nacional de Ciberseguridad (INCIBE), han desarrollado. La guía está disponible en la Oficina de Seguridad del Internauta (OSI) y en Internet Segura for Kids.

La guía está formada por 18 fichas que recogen los principales riesgos a los que nos exponemos al hacer uso de Internet así como las medidas de protección que debemos aplicar para evitarlos. En concreto, cada ficha plantea una situación que podría ocurrir a cualquier usuario que haga uso de dispositivos electrónicos y se conecte a Internet, con el objetivo de hacer reflexionar a éste sobre la problemática de hacer o no hacer una determinada acción. A continuación, se expone información general sobre la temática abordada. Finalmente, cada ficha facilita una serie de consejos y recomendaciones que ayudarán a evitar los riesgos planteados y mantenerse protegido.

The Internet Security Office (OSI) provides the necessary information and support to prevent and resolve security problems that may exist when surfing the Internet.

Internet Segura for Kids (IS4K) is the Safer Internet Centre for minors in Spain, working with the aim of providing a safe environment for children and young people in the use of internet and technologies.

OSI and IS4K is led and coordinated by the Spanish National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE) depending on the Secretariat of State for Digital Progress (SEAD), and is part of the pan-European INSAFE network of SICs within the Better Internet for Kids Programme of the European Commission.
