Addressing long-term unemployment is a key political priority of the European Commission's jobs and growth strategy. In February 2016 the Council of the European Union adopted the Recommendation on the integration of the long-term unemployed in the labour market.

 The Commission has launched a consultation to gather views and opinions on the measures proposed in the Recommendation and their implementation as well as to shed light on future possible action. As cross-border employment policies could contribute to reduce long-term unemployment, you are invited to contribute to the consultation.
