The European Commission invites public administration representatives, legal and procurement officers and providers of IT solutions for the public sector to participate in the Sharing & Reuse Conference 2017. The main focus of the event is to discuss and share good practices related to the sharing and reuse of IT solutions. The conference will be held at the Cultural Centre of Belem in Lisbon, Portugal on 29 March 2017

Sharing and reuse of IT solutions enables public administrations to develop services more quickly and at a reduced cost. Additionally, it promotes greater interoperability, standardisation and cooperation among public administrations. This eventually results in simpler, faster and cheaper administrative procedures while reducing public expenditure and saving time and effort.

Mrs Maria Manuel Leitão Marques, the Portuguese Minister of the Presidency and Administrative Modernisation, and Ms Gertrud Ingestad, Director General of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Informatics, will open the event. We also have the pleasure to host Tony Bosma, a trend watcher and futurist, as a keynote speaker.

Main topics of the conference are:

  • Policies around sharing and reuse of IT solutions
  • Proven technical, legal and financial instruments which help develop shared solutions
  • Good practices and success stories of working together
  • Exploring the type of collaboration among public administrations, between public, private and non-governmental sectors

During the conference, the organisers will annouce the winners of the Sharing & Reuse Awards. The contest rewards the best cases of collaboration among public administrations that provided reusable IT solutions.
