The CONNECT University session on "Climate Change: Resilience, Uncivilisation, Rebellion and Technology" brought together European Commission and external experts to pool efforts and resources to highlight perspectives on rapid adaptation to possible dramatic and imminent shifts in environmental conditions. Following the previous climate change sessions, the present edition combined panel discussions with a practical workshop where participants explored the biggest threats to humanity and identify tentative solutions for action.
More than technology, a revolution in the way we connect with our planet and each other together with a fundamental shift in our mind-set is on the agenda – Watch the recording and join us in designing the map for navigating potential climate tragedy and perhaps even rediscover purpose together in the face of this drama.
On Specific Technology Questions
- What could be the role of technology in helping people relinquish consumerism?
- What could be the role of technology in helping people restore lower-carbon community life, including communal games, gardening, cooking?
- What could be the role of technology in helping people organise to develop resilience through more local food / food storage and payment security?
