WE NEED YOUR STORIES: EXPERIENCES OF EGTCS AND CROSS-BORDER REGIONS IN DEALING WITH COVID-19 CRISIS AND RECOVERY

The current unprecedented crisis has put to the test all aspects of our life, including cross-border cooperation which is facing its most challenging times in decades.

The European Committee of the Regions (CoR) has partnered with the European Commission (DG REGIO) and  the leading associations working in the field of cross-border cooperation in Europe; the Mission Operationelle Transfrontalière (MOT), the Association of European Border Regions (AEBR) and the Central European Service for Cross-border Initiatives (CESCI), to pool resources together and publish the many stories and experiences in one place – on the CoR’s COVID 19 exchange platform in a special section dedicated to cross-border cooperation.

If your cross-border region, EGTC or Euroregion, has interesting stories to share with us, please fill in this EU Survey, so we can process your stories faster and publish them on the COVID 19 platform.

What types of stories are we looking for?

Examples of cross-border cooperation during the COVID 19 crisis, and your efforts in economic recovery, and how measures to contain the pandemic have affected citizens’ lives in border regions.

We are collecting information on cooperation in the fields of health and elderly care, emergency services as well as any examples as a result of the crisis; such as the coordinated actions to enhance the economic recovery in cross-border context; the impacts of closed borders and of shutting down cross-border transport services as well as harmonisation in the provision of cross-border services in the aftermath of containment measures.

We are also interested in the strategies your local authorities have implemented to help stop the spread of this virus! We are very interested to hear the human side of this story and the concrete impacts this crisis had on our citizens.

Measures implemented in your cross-border/border region

For our future analysis of the impacts of this crisis we would also be interested to know the measures that were implemented in your region to contain the spread of the virus. We would kindly ask you to share it with us either in form of a text, or as a document (PDF, DOC) that you might have.
