Euro area annual inflation was 1.7% in January 2026, down compared to December 2025. Looking at the main components of euro area inflation, services had the highest annual rate in January 2026 (3.2%, compared with 3.4% in December 2025), followed by food, alcohol & tobacco (2.6%, compared with 2.5% in December), non-energy industrial goods (0.4%, compared with 0.3% in December) and energy (-4.0%, compared with -1.9% in December).
