Renew Europe organised the high level webinar 'A vision for rural Europe' on 7 July 2020. Dacian Cioloș, President of Renew Europe group, together with Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, Werner Hoyer, President of the European Investment Bank, and Iratxe García Pérez, President of the S&D Group in the European Parliament, shared their vision for harnessing the potential of rural areas.
The main messages revolved around the need to capture the diversity of rural Europe in the Long Term Vision and the need to start the process now, linking it to current EU policies such as the CAP Strategic Plans, Cohesion Policy and the Recovery Plan.
