A new set of decision-support tools for Climate Smart Agriculture are being developed through the STARGATE Horizon 2020 project.
STARGATE is focusing on improved understanding about “ground-breaking advancements that will provide decision-makers responsible for managing agri-food systems with a profound knowledge on how to optimise irrigation of fields and crops taking into consideration temperature, precipitation, soil type and crop growth models among other parameters, under future climate transitions.”
You can follow developments with the STARGATE actions online for another two years until the research concludes in September 2023. Recommendations from the research will promote tillage practices that can facilitate sustainable soil and water management in different climate conditions.
