A detailed coverage of cultivated land parcels in the EU is now available from a new continental map of EU crops. Published recently by the EU’s Joint Research Council (JRC), this data set maps 91 million hectares of cropland from 2018 at a very fine spatial scale in 10-m resolution.
The new tool will be useful for many different CAP stakeholders and it allows users to zoom in on individual fields. Some 19 crop types can be distinguished including the main staples of wheat, maize, barley, and potatoes. Check out the JRC’s webpage about this new land use monitoring tool.
